Seba Calfuqueo, a member of the Mapuche people in Chile, works as both an artist and activist, defending the Mapuche tradition of respecting and protecting nature, especially water. For the Sea Art Festival 2025, Calfuqueo presents a new series of large-scale photographs, KOLLOF Series created after researching the coastal of Busan and Dadaepo. These striking algae images which were produced in Chile, displayed directly in the sea or river. It offers viewers powerful bird’s-eye view, as if looking down from the sky. This work invites us to reconnect with water not just as a resource, but as a living, sacred entity that protects us.
